The 24th Navajo Nation Council will be deciding about the possibility for schools to reopen. San Juan School District is seeking parent and scholar input with a survey that is in your email registered with the school.
If you do not see the survey from SJSDt, check your SPAM folder for an email called "San Juan School District Re-Entry Survey." IF you still cannot access the survey, please text your name and your scholar(s) to 801.633.6755 so that we can gather your input on whether you prefer your scholar(s) to continue distance learning or return in person.
It is vital that we receive survey responses ASAP. Here are a few points to keep in mind:
1. WHS will not reopen this year, unless the Navajo Nation gives us permission to do so,
2. We will follow guidelines provided by the state of Utah and the Navajo Nation (guidelines are at https://www.navajonationdode.org/),
3. Families will still have the choice to continue virtual learning and a survey has been sent to parent emails registered in Aspire, and
4. We will develop plans that allow for teachers to support virtual learning, as well as in-person (this will look different depending on the survey results).

There are four items of information for today (Wednesday, March 24):
1. The Critical Thinking Unit Calendar for March can help scholars complete assignments each day. Have fun crossing off each day!

Scholars need to get organized for 4th quarter and call their Advisor on Monday, March 22. There will be no Broadcasts and no Advisory session on this date so be sure to dive into the Critical Thinking Unit. Previewing the entire binder, to include the table of contents, can help everyone get organized. IF scholars would like to start early and/or work ahead, go for it!
Whitehorse High School is now on Spring Break. Teachers and staff are not working so we will respond to emails, phone calls, and texts once we return for 4th Quarter, which starts March 22.
We will mail final 3rd Quarter grades to the Post Office on March 24.
